The Miami Heat beat the Oklahoma City Thunder 121-106 to win the 2012 NBA championship 4-1. The Heat won 4 consecutive games to win the series after losing the first game in Oklahoma. The league and finals MVP LeBron James led an outstanding team effort with his usual all round performance, getting a triple-double with 26 points, 11 rebounds and a game-high 13 assists.
The Miami heat had 6 players scoring double figures including including Chris Bosh with 24 and the unlikely of sources Mike Miller with 23, who went 7-of-8 from beyond the three-point arc in a spectacular shooting display for the Heat. Once again one of the supporting players really stepped up for Miami and this title was a real team effort. Before it was Battier with his 3 pointers, the it was Mario Chalmers and now it is Mike Miller.
This is the third time in the final for the 3 time League MVP and it seems like the third time is the charm as he has finally gotten that elusive first title. Now that the first title is out of the way, the question now is, can LeBron and the heat start a basketball dynasty similar to Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls? If this does happen, will he be considered the best basketball player ever?
